Cookie Policy

MEP Desk uses minimal cookies. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or analytics scripts. Here is exactly what we use and why.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored in your browser. They are commonly used for authentication, preferences, and tracking. We only use them for authentication.

Cookies we use

Cookie Purpose Set by Duration Type
sb-[project-ref]-auth-token Keeps you logged in to your MEP Desk account Supabase (authentication provider) Session / 1 week Essential

That's it. One authentication cookie, set only when you log in.

localStorage (not cookies)

MEP Desk makes extensive use of your browser's localStorage and IndexedDB to store your engineering data locally. This is NOT cookie-based tracking — it is local data storage that stays on your device by default. Professional users with cloud backup enabled may also have project data backed up to encrypted cloud infrastructure. This includes your projects, calculations, references, assumptions, UI preferences, and search history. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

What we do NOT use

We do not use:

  • Google Analytics or any analytics service
  • Facebook Pixel or any advertising tracker
  • Third-party tracking cookies of any kind
  • Fingerprinting or device identification
  • Any cookie consent management platform (because we do not need one — we only use essential cookies)

Third-party cookies

Stripe (our payment processor) may set cookies during the checkout process when you upgrade to Professional. These are governed by Stripe's cookie policy at stripe.com/cookie-policy. We have no control over Stripe's cookies.

Managing cookies

You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings. If you block the authentication cookie, you will not be able to stay logged in to MEP Desk. Your local engineering data (stored in localStorage) is separate from cookies and will not be affected by clearing cookies alone.

Changes

We will update this page if our cookie usage changes. The "Last updated" date will reflect any changes.
